Trainer Xavi has confirmed the interest of FC Barcelona to Robert Lewandowski.
The world footballer from FC Bayern Munich is “one of the options” for the catalans, Xavi said on Saturday at the press conference before the season finale in Laliga against FC Villarreal (Sunday, 10:00 p.m./DAZN): “There are currently negotiations.”
Lewandowski “had already said publicly that he wanted to go,” said Xavi. However, a transfer to Spain is “not easy because it is Bayern Munich. But it is one of the options.”
Lewandowski, who has been associated with Barca for a long time and whose contract in Munich expires in 2023, had left his future open after winning the German championship.

Munich CEO Oliver Kahn also showed no willingness to dissolve the contract on Saturday. “This question does not arise. Robert Lewandowski has a contract, and he will also fulfill it,” said the Bayern boss in an interview with the world on Sunday.
Munichs director Hasan Salihamidzic had also excluded an early departure of the striker from FC Bayern.
Coach Julian Nagelsmann recently explained that Lewandowski was “quite normal” in his planning.
