Defending champion Alba Berlin goes to the playoffs after using the quotient regulation in the basketball Bundesliga. The Telekom Baskets Bonn will be second and FC Bayern Munich will take third place, as the BBL announced.
The Berlin player for Sunday at the Löwen Braunschweig had previously been dropped away from Lower Saxony due to numerous Corona cases. The game cannot be made up for due to scheduling reasons because the playoffs begin on May 13th. As a result, Braunschweig and Berlin will only have 33 of the 34 competitive games at the end of the main round.
According to the regulation adopted by the BBL clubs, the final table for all 18 clubs is created after the quotient regulation after the end of the main round (victories are shared by the number of games), the league announcement said. Alba Berlin is the first to go to the playoffs again since 2009. The Berliners got the last two championship titles and are reigning cup winners.
