Jürgen Klopp warned of too much euphoria after the convincing appearance of Liverpool in the semi-final first leg of the Champions League.
“We are 2-0 in front, that’s good and better than before the game. But we know that we are not yet through,” said Klopp after the victory against FC Villarreal.
Despite the good starting position, Klopp demands the full focus of the second leg in Spain from his team.
“We have to be wide awake and 100 percent have the right attitude. We know that a challenging atmosphere is waiting for us.”
The Reds were the dominant team from the start in the first leg.
Shortly after the break, Pervis Estupinan falsified a cross from captain Jordan Henderson unsustainable for goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli (53.), shortly afterwards Sadio Mané hit Mohamed Salah (55.).
In the second leg next Tuesday (9:00 p.m./Amazon Prime) Liverpool and Klopp have the chance to make the final.
