The charges for checking accounts will increase in Germany at numerous banks.
According to a survey of the consulting company Ey, about 34 percent of the monetary houses increases – around 15 percent of respondents have already shot at the price bolt this year.
The reason for this is likely to be the currently very low interest income.
The study first reported the “Handelsblatt”.
Most recently, many banks had stopped their price increases for the time being.
Trigger for this was a judgment of the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) from April 2021 against Postbank.
The judges showed the institute that the price adjustments always the explicit consent of the customers is needed.
The usual practice, this only to regulate this through a change in the terms and conditions is inadmissible.
